Monfreaq

Since the inception of her musical journey, Monfreaq has been constantly evolving and deepening her unique sound. With a lean towards bass music, yet unbound by genre, she uses this fluidity as a tool for exploring every facet of music available to her in a seamless manner.

It is through this intuitive process of developing her sound that she’s now entered the world of production, with her debut track ‘Blip’ featuring on Weaver’s recent VA compilation. For a debut production so thoughtful and polished, we can only imagine what Monfreaq will augment her already extensive list of musical achievements with this coming year.

Aside from her production and club gigs, Monfreaq heads up a monthly show on Skylab Radio which aims to showcase the fiercely talented emerging DJs in the local scene, as well as some international guests. She is also a co-founder of Folly Hifi; a boutique handmade sound system and event series running parties in open air locations across Naarm (Melbourne).

Coming into the new year, Monfreaq continues to solidify her diverse sound in the scene, centring bass music in both her production and her sets. She is no doubt a prominent figure to look out for and is set to burgeon, with more releases and unforgettable sets on the near horizon.
